When Loly heard bachata music from the Dominican Republic, he fell in love  with it.  So, it is no surprise that he chose bachata as his principal genre.  Still, he is equally comfortable composing and performing songs in other genres and the band’s repertoire also includes salsa, cumbia, merengue, son, rumba, bolero and mexicano.

As lead singer and songwriter, Loly is the driving force behind the band.  He discovered music as a young child, singing and playing maracas and other instruments at family fiestas and community gatherings.  At age 15, he wrote his first song and at 18, he learned to play the guitar which is now his constant companion.  After completing his studies in forestry, Loly worked in that industry for a time before leaving to follow his dreams as a full-time musician.  He led several groups before teaming up with Los Atrevidos to become Loly y sus Atrevidos de la Bachata.

A self taught musician and song-writer, Loly has more than 100 songs to his credit.  He takes his inspiration from daily life, weaving his experiences with poetry, love and a unique sensibility for the human condition to create unforgettable images and music.  Loly is a tireless performer with extraordinary charisma who gives his all in every performance.  He dreams of one day being able to travel with his band to share his music with the world.
